George Papageorge Organ Trio

George Papageorge is a New York City–based organist, pianist, and keyboardist whose soulful style bridges jazz, blues, funk, and soul. Originally from Boston, he relocated to New York in the late 1990s and quickly established himself as an in-demand performer on the city's vibrant live music scene. Drawing inspiration from Hammond B-3 masters such as Jimmy Smith and Charles Earland, Papageorge has developed a powerful, groove-driven sound that combines blues feeling, jazz sophistication, and deep rhythmic intensity.

Throughout his career, Papageorge has performed, toured, and recorded with an impressive roster of acclaimed artists. He worked extensively with Grammy-nominated soul singer Mighty Sam McClain, contributing both as a keyboardist and co-writer, and toured with legendary soul-jazz guitarist Melvin Sparks, helping to carry forward the classic organ trio tradition. In addition to his work as a sideman, Papageorge has led his own trio, performing at renowned New York venues including the iconic 55 Bar and Smalls Jazz Club, where his energetic performances have earned him a loyal following among jazz and blues audiences.

Beyond the stage, George Papageorge has appeared on more than 25 recordings spanning jazz, blues, funk, and soul, including albums by Mighty Sam McClain, Melvin Sparks, Floyd Lee, and numerous collaborative projects. His own debut recording, Snowstorm Blues, showcases his expressive Hammond B-3 playing and commitment to the organ trio tradition while highlighting his distinctive voice as a composer and bandleader. Whether performing in intimate jazz clubs or recording with celebrated artists, Papageorge continues to be recognized as one of New York City's authentic and soulful keyboard stylists, bringing passion, swing, and deep musicality to every performance.
