Since graduating Queens College in 1996, Jeb Patton has toured throughout the United States and abroad as the pianist with the Heath Brothers, Jimmy Heath, Charles McPherson, the Dizzy Gillespie All Stars, Roberta Gambarini, Antonio Hart, Sachal Vasandani, Dmitry Baevsky, Winard Harper, as well as with his own trio. Jeb has also performed with a variety of luminaries and top ensembles including, George Coleman Quartet, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni Big Band, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Etta Jones, Jessye Norman, Barbara Cook, James Moody, Broadway musical, “After Midnight,” and the New York Philomusica to name a few. Notable NYC jazz clubs and venues in which Jeb has performed include The Village Vanguard, Blue Note, Smalls, Mezzrow, Smoke, Birdland, Jazz Standard, Birdland Theater, Merkin Hall, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Appel Room, Symphony Space, Jazz Gallery, Jazz Forum, Iridium, as well as others. Jeb’s latest three CDs, Preludes, Tenthish, and Shades and Tones, were released in 2023, 2018 and 2016 respectively on the Cellar Live label. In 2009, Jeb recorded New Strides on the MAXJAZZ label. In July, 2020 Sher Music published Jeb’s new book: Introduction to Jazz Piano, A Deep Dive. This follows Jeb’s other two releases: An Approach to Comping: The Essentials in 2013, and An Approach to Comping: Vol. 2, Advanced Concepts and Techniques in 2016. Jeb also teaches piano, ear training, transcription, jazz piano for non-pianists, arranging, and improvisation at Queens College, Temple University, Five Towns College, and NJPAC.
