Jed Levy Quartet

Saxophonist Jed Levy has been a mainstay on the New York jazz scene for over 40 years. In addition to performing and recording as a leader, he has had long standing working relationships with such jazz luminaries as Jaki Byard, Don Patterson, Jack McDuff, Ron McClure and Headhunters drummer Mike Clark. He has also worked with, Junior Mance, Eddie Henderson, Jack Walrath, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Shirley Scott, Kevin Mahogany, Gene Bertoncini, Don Friedman, Cedar Walton, Curtis Fuller, Chico O'Farrill, Attilla Zollar, Groove Holmes, Tom Harrell, The Temptations and many others. Levy has toured Japan, China and Europe as a leader and appeared at several international jazz festivals as well as leading bands at such New York venues as The Django, Sweet Basil, Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls, Mezzrow, Visiones and Zinno. In 2012, the Jed Levy Quartet was chosen by Jazz at Lincoln Center to tour South and Central America for the U.S. Dept. of State Jed has recorded 11 acclaimed albums under his own name on the SteepleChase and Reservoir labels. His latest “FACES AND PLACES” is receiving critical acclaim and is placing high on airplay charts. His compositions have been recorded by such artists as the Headhunters, Ron McClure, Don Friedman, Eddie Henderson, Reuben Wilson, Michael Wolff, Larry Coryell, Peter Leitch and Mike Clark. In 2017 in NYC he formed a collaborative project with British guitarist Phil Robson which has presented highly successful performances in NYC (sold out shows at Birdland, Smalls, 55Bar etc) and have toured California, the UK, Republic of Ireland as well as played concerts in Berlin, Barcelona, Rome and much more. http://www.jedlevy.com
