Tyler Henderson is a young up-and-coming pianist on the New York jazz scene. Originally from Oneonta, New York, he moved to Houston, Texas with his family to attend the famous High School for Performing and Visual Arts. Since his arrival in 2019 to attend The Juilliard School, he has quickly become an in-demand sideman, working with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the John Pizzarelli Trio, Grant Stewart, Eric Alexander, Toninho Horta, Joe Magnarelli, Bruce Harris, Benny Benack III, and others. He has played at many notable New York venues including Dizzy’s, Smalls, Mezzrow, The Django, and JazzCultural. He leads his own trio that explores notable compositions and originals inspired by Bud Powell, Ahmad Jamal, Wynton Kelly, Cedar Walton, and many other of his musical heroes. He recorded and released his debut album, “Love Endures,” on the Vancouver-based Cellar Live label in the spring of 2025, and is due to release his sophomore album for the same label by the end of 2026.
